Al Gore dined at Glendale Springs during their
trip to Ashe County to dedicate the New River as
an American Heritage River. The River House,
located on the North Fork of the New River, is
by reservation only and serves elegant cuisines
Wednesday through Saturdays and offers a tasting
menu on Sundays. For a casual and delicious
dining experience, many people choose to go to
Mountain Aire Seafood and Steak, featuring fresh
seafood, or Fraser’s, a beautiful restaurant
with a very attentive staff.
Crabtree Meadows is perfect for those camping or
enjoying the parkway. Conveniently located just
off the parkway, the Meadow's store has many
snacks and goodies that you will want to bring
along.
Looking for a great coffee shop with an eclectic
feel? Bohemia Gallery is Ashe County’s newest
coffee shop, featuring tasty baked goods and
delicious blends of coffee. Bohemia Gallery also
has plenty of organic coffees, as well as their
newest feature, selling coffee by the pound.
Recently, the Bohemia Gallery became the tasting
outlet for New Rivery Winery, Ashe County’s
first official winery.
